Obama Got Positive Coverage on Horse Race in Late September
Following the conventions, discussion of Horse Race (polling, chances of winning, state-by-state analysis), increased. In the second half of September, Obama received significant positive coverage in relation to Horse Race discussion. Almost 18% of statements about Horse Race in election coverage have been positive to Obama, and just 5% have been negative to Obama. By contrast, Romney has received just 11.7% positive coverage on Horse Race and 11.5% negative coverage. Therefore, the analysts and pundits who are discussing Horse Race are liking Obama’s chances more and more as the candidates headed into the debates.
